STRAWBERRY AND WINE EVENING 2017

On June 21st 2017 we held our annual Strawberry and Wine evening; this year Tony Brown did us a real favour by stepping in at the last minute after Ian Buxton had a car accident.  £200 was raised for Leicestershire's local Children's Cancer hospice RAINBOWS.

HIGHCROSS GROUP ANNUAL MEETING 2017

The evening this year was hosted by Sapcote WI and the speaker was Ann Davies, BBC local news.  She was a delightful speaker.  This year again, we had a display of various crafts done by members of the 6 institutes in Highcross Group.

BIRTHDAY DINNER 2017

In 2017 we held our Birthday Dinner at Badgers Mount in Elmesthorpe.  The ambiance and food were superb and added to a wonderful evening.  President, Wendy Chamberlain, won the prize for the most points collected for competition entries.

KNEELERS FOR ST MICHAEL'S CHURCH, STONEY STANTON 2017

These were made by Stoney Stanton WI members to commemorate the Queens's 90th birthday and our WI's 70th birthday and were dedicated in Church on Sunday February 19th 2017

CRAFT AND GIFT FAIR 2017

This was held again at Manorfield Primary School on 11th November 2017.  A really good day and a superb atmosphere.  Again super stalls and home made refreshments.

DAY TRIP OUT TO BARNSDALE GARDENS 2017

Every August our WI goes on either a day or evening trip.  This year we went to Barnsdale Gardens, which I'm sure most people will remember as the gardens created by the late Geoff Hamilton and now run by his son Nick.  We have a lovely day and then went to Great Easton and District WI. The shrub shown is called Annabelle; this is the name of the daughter of our Treasurer, who was born in 2017.
