About Us

Welcome to Oadby Brookside WI.  My name is Jean Ellicock and I am the current President of Oadby Brookside WI. I am supported by nine excellent committee members and together we plan our WI activities i.e. speakers and events.

I lived in Oadby for about 20years and worked as a teacher at Oadby Brookside School for 25 years. Now retired I am able to enjoy the numerous opportunities that the WI offers including visits to Denman College, My love of all things crafty make Denman College a great place to learn new skills and I would highly recommend you take a look at their website.

Oadby Brookside WI have been established over 30 years and have a membership of around 40 ladies.  As well as a varied programme of speakers we organise three or four trips to places of interest every year. For example: 2015 included trips to Blenheim Palace for the Christmas Craft Market, Stratford-upon-Avon & Bletchley Park. We welcome other WIs, friends and family to join us on these trips.

We are a very friendly group and both visitors and new members would be very welcome.  We meet at Brookside School on the second Thursday of every month (except August) at 7.30 pm.
