Delicious smells reminiscent of the approaching Christmas season, filled Oadby Brookside School Hall recently. The Ladies were making Mango Chutney !

Rosie Jameson from ‘ Rosie makes Jam ‘ gave us a delightful cookery demonstration on cooking and bottling this fragrant Chutney.

Rosie hand makes small batches of Jams and Pickles, always with the best of eco - friendly ingredients and equipment. Oadby Brookside ladies all went home happily with a recipe sheet and a lovely jar of Mango Chutney for their store cupboard !

The saying ' Forewarned is Forearmed ' echoed in the ears of Oadby Brookside members as they listened to wise advice about Scams.  Rick Morton, Scam Liaison Offers for Leics County Council, gave our ladies much to think about as he explained the many types of Scams both online and in the post. The stress caused to the elderly and loss of savings, came over clearly as Rick described how cleverly these con men robbed us.  He also spoke of the dreaded "Cold Callers" and gave advice on protecting our homes from them.
